About Us

Bay Haven Care Community is a family owned and operated retirement living and long term care home that has been providing high quality, resident focused care for over 50 years.

In 1969, the Strandholt Family purchased a small nursing home in Collingwood. Their compassion and commitment in providing the best individualized care for seniors in Collingwood resulted in an expansion to meet the needs of the community. In 1985, the Bay Haven Care Community Retirement Home was added to provide comfortable and reliable living for seniors. In 2002, Bay Haven Care Community added a Retirement Home Suites section, which contains beautiful spacious rooms with large windows and a kitchenette. Today, Bay Haven Care Community continues to pride itself in being the most high quality, family-run retirement and nursing homes in Collingwood.

By providing excellent leadership, a talented management team, dedicated staff members, and caring volunteers, the residents at Bay Haven Care Community are happy to call us home.

Bay Haven Care Community is a member of the Ontario Long Term Care Association (OLTCA) and the Ontario Retirement Communities Association (ORCA).  Bay Haven is currently licensed for 60 long term care beds.
